This unit studies the past tense with all its forms and structures. The past tense has 4 different forms; The simple past which is mainly used for actions that happened in the past and finished at a specific time or date. The past continuous can be applied to interrupted past actions, progressive events in the past or describing an activity. The past perfect is a bit similar in structure to the present perfect except that it uses verb "have" in the past, and it is mostly used in sentences where an action happened before another action. Finally, the past perfect continuous which is the least common among the past tense forms, and it is used when talking about longer progressive actions. From this unit, I became familiar with the common mistakes and errors that students make because of the confusion between tenses. I also obtained some activate teaching ideas.
