Lesson planning isn't a joke. It is a serious component to the entire teaching process. Inexperienced teachers benefit from lesson planning as long as they don't rigidly adhere to it. The idea is to have a structure and goal for the day's class and try to accomplish that goal. The plan should include outcomes for the both the student and the teacher. Each stage of the plan should include whether it is engaging, study or activate. After the lesson is done it may be helpful for the teacher to assess themselves and how the lesson went. A loose plan with some flexibility is helpful and a lesson plan sets goals for both the teacher and the students, which is very crucial.
