This unit was based upon the importance of having a lesson plan and techniques that can be used to better help inexperienced teachers to smoothly lead the classroom. A lesson plan serves three purposes in that it can serve as a map or an aid to planning a lesson, an tool to help a teacher stay on task during the lesson, and as a record of reference for both you and future teachers of what was accomplished. Lesson plans don't need to follow a strict set of guidelines, in fact a teacher needs to arrive to class prepared to elicit vocabulary words and grammar in order to determine the need of the class and adjust their lesson accordingly. Too much of a scripted lesson can prove problematic for both the teacher and the student as it can disrupt the lesson's progression and create an awkward environment.
