In my lesson plans it is really useful to check and base it on the syllabus that is included, that way I have a clear understanding of the lesson objective and the target vocabulary or grammar, however, I have noticed that these books don't have enough for a nice activate activity. I always add more activities that I find online. Regarding authentic material, that is my favorite, because even if it not for a beginner level, it motivates people to learn in order to achieve its understanding.
