This unit discussed two grammar lessons – conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals present two actions wherein one presents a condition and the other presents the result or consequence of the condition given. The five main conditionals are the zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional and the mixed conditional. Some of these conditionals sometimes overlap so you have to be careful and should emphasize it to the students. Some students might find this grammar lesson confusing and most might make mistakes with the use of the correct tenses for each conditional. The second grammar lesson was direct and reported speech. It showed how direct speech can be transformed into a reported speech in numerous ways. Same with the conditionals, you have to be careful in teaching this lesson because there are too many changes that occur to a statement when converted into its reported speech.
