Unit thirteen covers the subject of teaching pronunciation and phonology. It discussed intonation which is the natural variation in pitch while speaking that conveys added meaning, stress on certain words or syllables to convey emphasis, and the use of the Phonetic Alphabet in helping students pronounce words. It also talked about the places and methods of articulation.
This was all new concepts for me but I definitely see the benefits of learning and teaching these concepts.
