First, this was an incredible compilation of what a teacher should know about phonology. I loved reviewing the IPA chart. I agree that English pronunciation is for sure one of the most difficult things to learn and it must not be taken for granted. For Spanish speakers, for example, English sounds differ a lot from those in their native language, therefore a lot of work has to be done with minimal pairs so similar words are not mistaken.
Second, I prefer to slot some pronunciation work in different lessons to make emphasis in particular sounds and to not cram them with a lot of information, just as English methods do which include sections to study different sounds in different units.
