This chapter helped me understand how to teach a specific topic to a class. The chapter also got me thinking about how effective a single day of teaching one topic would be. For example, spending one day on teaching vocabulary about one's house is good, but most likely, the students will forget the house vocabulary farther down the line. However, I feel that if an entire week is spent on one topic, then by the end of that week the topic which is being taught will really be hammered in and the students will be much less likely to forget it. I also found it very helpful that this chapter gave me lesson plan examples for how to teach certain topics, and it also showed me what type of ESA structure would work well for certain language topics.
