Having learnt the importance of the Receptive Skills of reading and listening, it was a great pleasure to discover of the ways the Productive Skills of Speaking (much used by the English Teacher) and Reading (much neglected, but of equal importance), can be used in teaching the English language. In addition to this, understanding the importance of creating the need and desire in the student to communicate via means of Accuracy and Fluency activities and the usages of these activities (as well as how language is controlled by the Teacher and those by the students) I found most invaluable indeed.
