While there are seven ways to use the future tense, we usually rely on only a small handful, especially the "going to future" form. Even with that in mind, the future tenses don't intuitively make any sense in terms of usage. Even as my understanding of tense forms increased with each review of the present and past tenses, the future forms still confused me. When it comes to understanding the tenses, it can feel like two steps forward and one step back at times,so extra support and guidance will need to be administered to the students when dealing with this tense.
