This chapter opened my eyes to how complicated the English future tense really is. As I progress through this course, I am understanding more and more why many non-English speakers say English is such a difficult language to learn. I can't even imagine speaking a language that does not have the future tense in their language and then trying to learn English, which has several different tenses for talking about the future. I am realizing that if I were to travel to some countries in Asia that do not have a future tense in their language, then I will have to use all my creativity to have my students understand the complexities of English's future tense, and I am looking forward to the challenge.
