In order to make the most out of time in the classroom, teachers should devote some time to lesson planning. What each teacher includes in a lesson plan is subject to vary, but it is often helpful to include the learning objective for the lesson, required materials, what the various stages of the lesson are, how long each stage will take, and anticipated problem areas. Teachers should use the lesson plan as a general guide and deviate when needed, not as an inflexible, rigid document that confines their class time. Finally, it is also important that at the end of each lesson, teachers evaluate what went well and where the lesson plan could be improved.
