The Engage-Study-Activate model is an essential model for every TEFL teacher because it will allow any teacher to build a lesson plan for students of all ages without the teacher having a high level of experience. It is a model that is well researched and one that I know will be used in my daily teaching. The ESA model out competes the other methods of learning in that it actually teaches the students the language, albeit, in a predictable manner. Nevertheless, the primary goal is to learn English. This chapter has surely helped me become more confident that I can build a lesson plan and structure it for kids, teens, and adults who have a desire to learn English.
