I learned in this unit the in-depth importance of all of the skills required in understanding and using a language. I learned about motives, ways that people process knowledge, when they use these skills and how to think about them when building a lesson plan. Learning about receptive skills helped me to comprehend and understand when I had these activities used in lessons that I had when learning a foreign languages, such as skimming a text or being asked to predict the content of a text by the headline. The skills for understanding context are very important to keep in mind when running a class that has to use a lot of reading or listening comprehension.
