If I will be teaching Business English students and doing needs analysis. I would like to know what is it exactly that the client (the person paying for the class) expects at it’s end. I would like to give a diagnostic test at the beginning of the course, to assess the different levels in the class as well as to assess the possibility of the clients’ expectations to be met. Also a needs analysis would be given. I think I would take one day to follow around several different people at the company, to assess what they do and what they need to be able to communicate. I would like to know the hours the BE students keep (what time they go in and what time they leave) and also when I’d be teaching (beginning of the day, after work, midday). Additionally, I’d perhaps assign groups for the whole course (being weary of boss/employee dynamics).
