Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit delves into the ways of organizing and managing the classroom to create a conducive place for students to learn. It discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using non-verbal cues or language, student groupings, and classroom arrangement. It also presents classroom management issues along with some advice on how to handle these issues. I learned that employing proper classroom management gives students sufficient opportunity for learning. The effective use of eye contact, voice and gestures can help the teacher regulate the class. As stated in the handout, good eye contact is essential in establishing good rapport with the students and the greater the variation of the voice, the greater the effectiveness. I also learned the positive and negative features of grouping students for class activities. The interaction patterns we use can affect what happens in the classroom. So, in grouping students, it is important to have balance and variety to give more chance for student talking time and active participation. The biggest lesson I got from this unit is to keep my language simple, personalize the activities so the students will take part more and be well-prepared. Sometimes, I want to make my lessons perfect that I want to give a lot of different activities or tasks but then I end up with ill-considered lesson plans. It is good to be reminded to be well-prepared. Being unprepared means a waste of a class meeting. When disciplining students, I always try to be consistent and fair in implementing rules and consequences. It takes practice and experience to know and apply effective classroom management. It is good to learn the hypothetical aspect of classroom management from this unit. Now I am equipped with more knowledge that I can use in my class.
