Unit 1 has helped me gain more knowledge on the teacher/student relationship and gave me more insight into the levels of language ability. It was helpful for me to see the six levels in the text (beginner, elementary, low/pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, and advanced) along with a description. I was able to visualize different ESL learners that I know and think about which level they have achieved. This is imperative to the teacher to have an overall knowledge of where students are and where they need to be heading in their journey of English learning.
