Methodologies can help imitate the natural language because not all English learners have English speaking environment. There are plenty of methodologies but to me, the top four teaching methods are: Presentation, Practice and Production (PPP); Task-based learning; Communicative language teaching (CLT) and Suggestopaedia. PPP is important because it aids learner’s fluency and quick understanding of the new language, while Tasks completed by the students themselves are better grasped whether there are little or no errors. Regarding CLT, students practicing new language learning in real life situations find it easier and faster to grasp the language vocabularies. Finally, students learning new language or other subjects deserve to be relaxed and conducive in order to build confidence of learning and understanding with ease. Side attractions and anxiety must be avoided. Students should be motivated and have the opportunity to use the language in the lessons, therefore, Engage, Study and Activate (ESA) will be the useful approach in most lessons. Engage stage should engage students fully. Study stage should provide for controlled practice to see what the students understood and can construct the language in an accurate, controlled way. Activate stage allows students to use the language fluently along with the rest of their language knowledge. We will use appropriate phase activities to plan the lessons. We should use a variety of elication techniques during a lesson to get the learners to respond and discover the language themselves. However, appropriate techniques should be used for suitable student level. An ESA lesson can have flexible order, as long as it starts with Engage phase and finish with Activate stage. In this course, there are three examples of an ESA lesson which are: Straight Arrow (ESA order), Boomerang (EASA order) and Patchwork (as long as the lesson starts with E and end with A stage). Praising is as important as correcting, therefore, we do not have to keep complaining students’ mistakes or error instead of encouraging their study. As a teacher, we should avoid correcting mistakes in the Engage stage. Mistakes should be taken notes to discuss during the study phase. In Activate phase, students are able to correct their errors without further problems. Errors will be checked when a specific task is over followed by possible corrections. However, Teachers should avoild using the students’ L1 during a lesson, while the students’ use of English should be maximised.
