There was a great deal on this unit that I found extremely useful to think about in terms of my classroom presence and organization of the classroom. I had not considered, for example, the use of eye contact or the use of negative language. In previous teaching I had not thought about the impact of saying, "No, that's wrong."
Since I am planning to teach young students the discussions of class grouping seem particularly relevant. Grouping less advanced students with more advanced students could be an excellent way to encourage class cohesion and encourage learning and peer teaching. I don't know why this had not occurred to me before!
