In this lesson, I learned about cultivating the other two basic skills: speaking and writing. The unit distinguished between accuracy and fluency and when to tackle each of those. It also discussed the appropriate activities to use when tackling either accuracy or fluency. For example, when trying to improve students' fluency, the teacher should use a more creative prompt, one that allows students to use a wide range of vocabulary. The unit also discussed the importance of cultivating a student's writing, which is often a skill neglected by teachers.
