This unit covers a very important lesson: how to teach pronunciation and phonology. As teachers, it is very important for us to know how to say certain words and where those pronunciation stemmed from. As native speakers, we take it for granted when we stress certain parts of the word because we do it without thinking. English language contains so many exceptions that there is not a linear explanation for the pronunciation rules. I find the phonetic scripts to be hard because they are not written in normal English so I would imagine that teaching them would be difficult too.
