For me, this was the most interesting unit so far. I really didn't know anything about phonetics before, and I found the actual physical actions that are needed to make each sound was so interesting. It also made me consider what sounds from other alphabets I would have trouble saying. I think that introducing the phonetic alphabet is not something I would feel comfortable doing with younger students, but it could be really beneficial if introduced early enough in their studies.
