In the fourth unit, I learned the specific knowledge needed regarding vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. I found it particularly useful to have these broken down and explained through examples of activities for each stage of an ESA lesson for each different type of language lesson being taught. I especially found the ESA vocabulary lesson given as an example, in which students come up with their dream house, then share their ideas with their classmates and the students all vote on the one they would want to live in. This would be a very valuable lesson because it is a very open-ended and student-centered set of activities that would allow students to be creative but also have enough structure to eliminate the intimidation that can be caused by a lack of any structure.
