Unit 1, provided my understanding of the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both the teacher and student. I learned the specific distinctive roles of a teacher in a classroom environment. Each teaching role is unique and has a function which can interlink with different roles. The promoter role of encouraging a student in the learning experience can progress onto the assessor role, for example providing constructive feedback. Unit 1 also provided my learning experience with an insight into the the language level distinctions. The language level distinctions provided my learning with a constructive view of the correct terms and guidelines of the requirements for a specific level. Unit 1 also provided my learning experience with a broad insight into the motivational reasons for students undertaking English as a language. I feel the Unit 1 presentation provided an in-depth broad spectrum of the key areas of the roles and responsibilities between teachers and learners.
