all phases of the ESA are important in order to most accurately mimic the way a student learns L1 and for the learning process to seem more authentic and natural. this unit sites many ideas for each phase of the ESA model for learning L2. this unit provides advice for making corrections and at which stages, and different ways of implementing correction when necessary i.e self correction, student to student correction and teacher to student correction. this unit also described short hand annotations on how to correct a students writing and different methodologies of teaching i.e. grammar translation, audio linguistic, the silent way, and communicative learning.
