Grammar is the branch of language while vocabulary and functions add beauty and variety. There are four things that students need to do with new language: Understand the meaning and how it is constructed and the ability to practice and produce it. Vocabulary is very important in the early stages when students must learn a lot of words to get into the language/ The more vocabulary the students have learned the larger the students can understand and actively use the words in oral and written form. However, the students will need to know also what the language means, the usage, forms and patterns and how it is said and written. Basically some lessons that we teach may include new grammar and functions. More importantly the lessons would be specifically introduced and focused in just one area to avoid confusion.
