This unit goes over how to introduce new vocabularies and grammar structure to students using the Engage-Study-Activate structure. When selecting a new vocabulary to teach, it is important to consider the appropriacy of the vocabulary as well as how often the student is likely to come across the particular vocabulary when using English. The students need to know about meaning, use, spelling, and pronounciation of the vocabulary when they are being taught. Methods a teacher can use when engaging students to learn the meaning of the word are pictures, discussion, and mime. Study activities include gap-fill exercises, word searches, crosswords and matching exercises. Some of the activate phase activities are role-play, story-building, and debate. The best part of this unit is when it gives a review of a past unit by going over the concept of Boomerang ESA structure again which was explained three units ago.
