Unit nine discussed lesson planning. First we looked at how lesson plans function as an aid to planning, a working document for reference and a record of the lesson. Basic principles such as simplicity, balancing skills, and flexibility will help to ensure the lesson runs smoothly. Elements to include in a lesson include the following: learning objectives, personal aims ( good point that the teach needs to be evaluative of themselves, not just the students), language point, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, ESA phases, timing, etc. The example lessons were helpful for visualizing the lesson.
