Unit 16 focuses on the complexity of conditionals and reported speed. Conditionals include zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional, and mixed conditional. When direct speech gets converted to reported speech the tense changes. For example, present simple changes to past simple while past simple changes to past perfect. Other parts of speech change as well when switching from direct to reported. For example, today becomes 'that day,' while 'yesterday' becomes 'the day before.' Understanding which parts of speech change when shifting from direct to reported is, for me personally, the more complex concept to grasp in this unit.
