This module, Teachers and Learners, is an eye opener for people who want to teach English. There are a lot of things to consider when teaching the English language and one is motivation. This module pointed out that adults and young learners may be or may not be motivated and as a teacher, it is your job to keep them motivated so that learning will be very easy for them. When teaching, you should always go back to their motivation - what drives them to learn. Once you have that ingrained in their minds and with constant reminder of their motivation, learning will come easily for them. Another thing that stood out for me is the teaching method. Unlike the usual setup where the teacher is in front all day discussing the topic, it would be better if the teacher took on other roles such as being a facilitator, prompter or learner so that he/she can gauge what kind of teaching method works on the class and to have a variety when it comes to learning as to not bore the class. Most importantly, i learned that what matters in the end is that the students are happy, motivated and are able to learn a lot from your class.
