This unit is about past tenses in English. So, we can say that past tenses are completely different from present tenses with their usages and structures. In this unit is spoken about past simple, past perfect, past continuous and past perfect continuous tenses. For the students past simple can be more difficult than the other tenses because it has different ways to put the verbs in the past ( as the verbs are divided into regular and irregular verbs). And comparing with the present tenses, the actions of past tenses should only be in the past. Apart from the differences between present and past tenses, we can see the similarities of some past tenses. For example, all continuous forms feature some form of the verb 'to be' plus the 'ing' form of the verb. All perfect forms' structure is formed by the verb 'to have' and the past participle form of the verb. And, the structure of all perfect continuous form is formed by the verb 'to have', plus 'been', plus 'ing' form of the verb.
