Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit discussed the four past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. The past simple form is used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. The affirmative form for regular verbs is constructed by adding 'ed' or 'd' to the base form of the verb (e.g. "I worked"). Many irregular verbs (those that do not fit the 'ed'/'d' pattern) exist, such as 'see', 'have', etc. exist, and unfortunately there are no rules to help students identify which verbs are irregular and how to conjugate them. The past continuous form is used for interrupted past actions (e.g. "I was watching TV when the doorbell rang"), as well as expressing an action which began before another point in time and probably continued after it (e.g. "At 8 o'clock he was having breakfast"). The past perfect is the past equivalent of the present perfect tense. It refers to a past action and a related past action before that. 'Had' is typically used with this form (e.g. "She had finished her work on time"). The past perfect continuous tense is used to describe a continuing action in the past up until an action in the past (e.g. "When I arrived, John had been cooking"). "Had been" is generally used to construct this form.
