Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit discusses qualities and differences of teachers and learners. It presented the different roles a teacher will have to assume, and which factors to consider about their students when teaching. The unit also presents the differences between young learners and adult learners; and defined the levels of proficiency to give teachers a better idea of how to approach a class. I learned that it is important to foster qualities of a supportive, enthusiastic and caring teacher in order for students to gain confidence and motivation to learn. The teacher must consider these qualities within themselves and care as much about teaching as they care about their students. I learned how important it is to become adaptable to the various types of students, and consider their experiences, cultures, ages, behaviours and motivations in order to give them the best learning experience. I familiarized myself with certain things to be aware of, that are specific to certain tyoes of students. For example, that very young learners have shorter attention spans and less motivation than adult students in general; but that they are less nervous and worried about making mistakes. They can also synthesize language items such as pronounciation and vocabulary with greater ease than adult students because the don't compare the language they are learning (L2) to their native language (L1). Overall this unit presented good information about things teachers must consider about themselves and about their students and provided a good basis for my further understanding about teaching.
