I found Unit 10 be very valuable. Having the opportunity to see the theories discussed in the course put into action was really enlightning. The class session that was deliberately taught with errors was painful to watch. Granted the instructor made several errors with regards to the structure of the class, but I found his general attitude and overall student interaction the most egregious. He was abbrasive and impatiet towards students. During the individual worksheet section, he was checking his phone. It couldn't be more clear that he did not want to be teaching. The session without errors was much more effective. Students had a greater understanding of what they were learning, there was a clear flow to the class and they were much more engaged as a result. I think that while it is necessary to have a foundation of the overall principles of teaching English, those skills will definitely improve with experience. Having more of the "Soft Skills" and the temperament to be an effective teacher is more difficult to learn.
