This unit describes the different tenses of verbs. I knew that verb tense indicates past, present, and future, but I would never have guessed there were 12 verb tenses. Of the 12, the most common tenses used are simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. I believe my spoken and written grammar is excellent, but I could never explain what tense I am using. It was difficult for me to try and learn a foreign language because such intense grammar instruction was not done in my elementary school.
