In this unit we explored the tenses as they are used in the English language and the common errors students may make. There are four tense usages and each of these have a set of rules which sets them into one of the tense categories. I can understand now how difficult it is for second language students to comprehend and use the different tenses as words like 'work' become 'works' or worked depending on the tense used, and the compression of words like have not to haven't.
