This seems pretty simple to teach though maybe not to learn from a foreign language point for irregular verbs. All languages have irregular things in their formatting but English seems to have the most rule breaking rules in common use: mice/mouse, houses/house, moose/moose, geese/goose. Simple, add -ed / question add did subject. Past continuous, subject, was/were, verb-ing / questoin, was/were, subject, verb-ing. Past perfect, subject, had, past participle / question, had, subject, past participle. Past perfect continuous, subject, had been, verb-ing / question, had, subject, been, verb-ing.
