A wonderful chapter I enjoyed best so far. I have seen phonemic alphabet in dictionaries before but I have never studied it at school or university. I will certainly teach pronounciation and phonemic alphabet from now on. I also enjoyed the video with the class presentation on the pronounciation lesson. The teacher was very knowledgbale of the material and had an excellent pronounciation. I will try to model him in my future classes with my students, including my son. I also never thought of the important role of intonation and stress in sentences and words, respectively. The pronounciation classes have been neglected in school and that is such a pity. I had one student, an older lady that used ponemics alphabet but I never attended to her needs properly because I never studied the alphabet myself. Now I am in the position to better help students like her in my future practice.
