This was a fairly simple unit that covered the teaching of grammar, vocabulary and language functions--what sort of information to choose and how to present it to students. It built heavily off of previous lessons, like the lesson on teaching methods (in particular, ESA). It was nice to have a review of the previous lesson and to see how these different topics connect to each other. I also like the discussion of teaching language functions, because I think this is the most useful type of lesson for beginning students; having studied various foreign languages in-country, I can say that nothing builds more confidence than taking a lesson on ordering in a restaurant and immediately going out to lunch to test your new skills.
