This unit has taught me that there are four things students need to do with new language, they should be exposed to it, understand it's meaning, understand how it is constructed and be able to practise and produce it. It also has taught me that when giving lessons that are specifically targeted to grammar or vocabulary we commonly use straight arrow ESA approach and that functions-based lessons are commonly approached with the boomerang or patchwork ESA structures.
