This unit covers the usage of the PRESENT TENSE. It covers the following areas: 1. Form. This shows affirmative, negative and questions. It also includes the grammatical construction and fundamental rules regarding how the tense or grammatical points are made. 2.Usage. This shows how and under what circumstances the tense is used. 3.Typical student errors. 4.Activate stage teaching ideas. We have covered the four present tenses. 1. PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE. affirmative_ Subject + base form[+s or es] negative- Subject + aux.verb'do'+not+base form question. aux.verb'do'+subject + base form. 2 PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE. Affirmative. subject+aux.verb'be'+ verb+ing negative. subject+ aux.verb+'be'+not+verb+ing question.aux.verb'be'+ subject+verb+ing 3PRESENT PERFECT. Affirmative.subject+aux.verb'have'+past participle negative. subject+aux.verb'have'+not+past participle. question. aux.verb'have'+subject+past participle. we have further seen that SINCE is used with points of time while FOR is used with periods of time. 4. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS. affirmative.subject+aux.verb 'have'+been+verb+ing negative. subject+aux.verb'have'+not+been+verb+ing question.aux.verb'have'+subject+been+verb+ing. I have learnt the correct usage of the present tense. I have also learnt the difference between 'since' and 'for' in their usage.
