To start, I have learned the different ways of teaching children. For example, being more involved in a lesson at times as a participant teacher instead of constantly taking on the role of a manager or controller. This could cause the classes to become boring, lacking motivation, or cold. I will continue to enjoy learning about the unique teaching methods and cultural norms of different areas and how to approach each child differently based on their culture and comfort zones.
I also appreciated the teaching suggestions based upon the learners age and motivations for learning a new language. For example, if a younger student was to take my class, because its what his parents or school wants, it might be better to approach the class with more enthusiasm and activities that keep them interested and alert. This is very different compared to a class with a more fluent adult who is learning out of his or her own desire; and might prefer a more factual, basic teaching approach.
