Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit covers the method of teaching. The methods include; Grammar-translation, audio-lingualism, presentation practice and production, task based learning, communicative language teaching, community language learning, the silent way, suggestopeadia and the lexical approach. Teachers must make sure they elicit answers from the students.Elicitation techniques are as follows; real objects, flash cards, drawings, asking for the questions, gap fill, lists, follow on questions, concept descriptions, mimes and definitions. All lessons should consist of these three components. 1- ENGAGE 2-STUDY 3 ACTIVATE. However they don't have to follow the same order all the time. For example, straight arrow follows:Engage-Study-Activate. Boomerang follows: Engage-Activate-Study-Activate. Patchwork follows:engage-activate-activate-study-activate-engage-study-activate. It should be noted that patchwork lessons should be for long classes, not less than an hour. This unit further discusses the ideas for the engage stage. for example;introduction prompts, fizz-buzz, alphabet relay, slow pictionary, adjectival introductions etc. The ideas for the study stage are;elicitation, pronunciation, spelling gap fill, etc. The ideas for the active stage are; role play, debates, story building etc. The teacher is required to give feedback. Feedback depends on many factors. In addition to the above, this unit covers correction techniques. There are three forms of correction. The most effective way of correcting written work is by using codes i n the margin of the body of the writing. I have learnt that the best effective method of teaching is ESA. ENGAGE- STUDY-ACTIVATE. I have learnt that I should resist from correcting students all the time. More to the above, I have learnt to have English as the only language allowed in class.
