Unit 18 overviews modal and phrasal verbs, passive voice, and relative clauses. Modal verbs are used to express things like obligation, permission, ability, advice, and possibility. Phrasal verbs are multi-word verbs that are used that have one meaning. Passive voice is used when we don't know, don't want to say, or it's not important who does the action. A relative clause, also called and adjective clause, is a dependent clause that modifies a noun. What I have learnt from this unit are the rules and uses for all of these parts of grammar. Like with some other of the other grammar units I know how to use them, but don't always know how to explain it correctly. This unit gives a great outline of the rules for each of these grammar points so that it can be explained in the simplest of terms.
