I never realized before this lesson just how complicated the future tense is! The opening statement surprised me - that the future tense was "one of the most complicated areas of the English language." All of these tenses just make sense to me, because I use them so often. I would not have considered seven different tenses used to express future ideas. But as we walked through them, I came to realize the differences between them - especially how the present simple, present continuous, and "going to" futures. This will be very helpful in allowing me to explain the future tense to my students.
