Its form is; affirmative- subject+was/were+verb+ing negative- subject+was/were+not+verb+ing. question-was/were+subject+verb+ing. it is used for interrupted past actions etc one of the ideas for the activate stage is a detective game. The third is PAST PERFECT. Its form is, affirmative.- subject+had+past participle negative- subject+had+not+past participle. question- had+subject+past participle. It is used for completely finished actions. You can use story telling among others during the activate stage. The fourth one is PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS. Affirmative- subject+had+been+verb+ing negative- subject+had+not+been+verb+ing question- had+subject+been+verb+ing It is used to talk about longer actions or situations in the past that had been going on continuously up to the past moment that we are thinking about. I have learnt that most verbs in English are irregular. I have learnt that the past continuous almost always requires some form of time reference.
