There was a lot of valuable information in Unit 9. The unit first explained the purpose and benefits of lesson planning. The unit stressed that while planning is important, teachers need to be mindful to not become too rigidly tied to their lesson plan. A sample lesson plan was outlined as well as a self evaluation form for teachers to use to capture what did/did not go well during a particular lesson. As always, lots of sample material was included (which I can definitely see myself using once I start teaching). I absolutely see the benefit in proper lesson planning, particularly for a beginner teacher. Having more built in structure will allow the teacher to provide engaging lesson plans while also allowing the teacher to build more confidence and experience.
