This unit introduced the guidelines of managing and leading the students in a classroom setting. The unit outlined different organizational models for classwork and the advantages and disadvantages inherent in each model. The role of the teacher, including different strategies to adopt depending on the class dynamics, was also discussed. The text emphasized the importance of the teacher being flexible and adapting the strategies that maximize student comprehension, participation and engagement as needed at different points of the lesson.
The unit finished by exploring the tactics to use when challenges in the classroom arise, highlighting the need for a calm, collected and generally positive approach even in more stressful situations.
