This unit focused on teaching strategy, in using the teacher's physical presence, classroom arrangement and disciplinary measures. The presence of the teacher is dependent on the classroom arrangement. and whether the teacher should stand, sit, and move around is dependent on the activity. Teachers need to be very flexible, and thus the lessons they teach must have the same flexibility. The role of a teacher should be a mix of entertainer, educator and controller. Entertainer to keep the students focused and interested on the lesson, educator to teach the students new facets of the English language and controller to maintain discipline via classroom arrangement, enforcing the conduct policy and meeting with students to correct behavior. The last thing a teacher needs to do is effectively divide teacher talk time and student talk time.
