While much of this material is intuitive, I have found it very helpful to learn more nuanced ideas of what a good teacher is and what roles he or she should be prepared to balance in the classroom. Having learned the qualities of good learners, I feel I will be more prepared to identify the students who are less inclined to learn English, and hopefully boost their interest and create a strong sense of community in the classroom. The definitions of the levels of proficiency were also interesting, as they have already helped me narrow down which age groups I am best suited to teach. Finally, reflecting on the different reasons for motivation in students has motivated me to teach even more!
